He not only helps law enforcement now, he is also very proactive teaching kids and young adults not to ruin their lives making the wrong decisions he did. Not only did he serve his sentence, but since he has gotten out, he has put in nonstop effort to help create good in the world and better people's lives to make up for the bad he did. He also works helping inmates build their lives upon release, encouraging them to find their place doing good instead of falling back into their old life. No one can erase their past but they can make good decisions in their present and future.

    • Lawrence Talbot
      Lawrence Talbot 2 개월 전

Yeah real fun until his world crashes in on you and either someone he robbed or owes money to comes to your family with a vengeance. Or the feds catch on and suck you into it, staking out your place, interrogating you and making you feel like you’re guilty of something just because your family member is who they are, then they try to use you against them and that’s a whole other kind of guilt. Not to mention the embarrassment when it goes around town your family has a criminal in it. Everyone starts looking at you differently. Friends, gf, neighbors, people you see on a daily basis.
Had an uncle like that. He was really cool and trust me was the favorite uncle, until he wasn’t. Then it was just a nightmare for us, even long after he went to jail.

I can relate with the millionaire robbing. I can imagine feeling like there's no more challenges when you can just buy everything you want. What you can do is challenge yourself if you're clever and see what you can get away with. And in the end, do criminals stop when they're piling up mountains of money, because they already have a lot?
You will get caught - except the bank robber reviewing bank robbing scenes who turned himself in.

When I started working in law enforcement we had numerous house burglaries in a short time span. Appeared to be same people doing them. After about 3-4 we realized there was always something major happening minutes before the burglaries. Misdirection is very effective. Unfortunately. Finally, we actually were able to catch the people causing the misdirection, and they in turn ended up telling us who was committing the burglaries.

I think that in "Heat" you CAN see how heavy those bags are and that the robbers are actually struggling. Maybe the actors don't have to carry 70 pounds but not 10 either. I'd be surprised to find that Michael Mann hadn't thought of that aspect, that's a director who makes you repeat a scene if the sound of the clothes hangers is not to his liking.

I thought it was disappointing how he said that it’s just the insurance companies who loose. With jewelry you have attachment to the piece itself and not the monetary value. And not everyone insurers their jewelry or for the correct amount. So he is kind of downplaying his actions.

In the movie “Snatch” the reason that one guy had all the guns is so that ALL of them didn’t get beeped on the metal detector. If you watch the beginning, the security guard is scanning them all, and the last guy (with the guns) is scanned, he just looks at the security guard and is like “what do you want me to do, drop my pants?” He just let’s him through.

10:08 -- previously he said that it isn't you or the shop being robbed, but ultimately insurance companies, so why would you hide some things elsewhere? If the crook *knows* that the item is there, then all you are doing is *forcing* them to torture you to tell them the other locations. And if you don't then I guess a decent chance they just kill you.
It only would make any sense given the previous statement if certain items are not insured; maybe very new purchases...? Though if they are very valuable, is it not worth the few minutes to call the insurance company? Maybe more likely, items that aren't insured because they were acquired illegally and you don't even want the insurance company to know you have it?
IDK, maybe for insurance fraud purposes itself? Shop owner has everything insured, criminals get away with the $1M worth in the safe, but the shop owner claims that the $2M hidden elsewhere were also stolen?
