@Johnny Knoxville as a someone who had a chance in some jungle survival training, number one priority in such tight situations is to avoid getting in them in the first place. And if you ever do, all your efforts are oriented in getting yourself out of that situation. He's just embodying that rule by NOT being idiotic and exposing yourself in nature when you have other safer alternative. Besides, I can attest most of the stuff shown in his show about jungle survival is accurate.

I absolutely love how Bear says that making a primitive fire (with no equipment) can be very difficult.
I'm sure a lot of people here have tried it and if you have no experience, it's nigh on impossible. When I first started I had no idea the proper way to do it and just assumed fire would catch and maintain effortlessly.. but nah, it can be very difficult.

The stuff he did in his show was real... it's not like he fake-climbed a vine (he'd really do stuff like that) however sometimes things were set-up in a way to make the show more dramatic (this is where the idea of "fake" comes in) and sometimes his advice only super-humans can mimic... at times they would stop filming for a few days and stayed in Hotels like any other TV Show would do.

Watching Titanic I was literally screaming inside my mind at them because they had life jackets and a door, they could have just simply pushed the life jackets under the door to make it so that it can take both their weight! 😔

@TheRageMaker They did prove that both could survive but only by putting Rose's life jacket underneath the door and attach it with an elastic, something they didn't have. Besides, Bear Grylls said that the cold robs you of your hability to move your fingers and your senses so both would be unable to make a tie.

he once stood in front of an industrial fan (with water as well) that was blowing at about 200 mph, to simulate what being at the mercy of a full-blown hurricane was like. It was also, 40°f too. He go throttled..lol...but it was amazing to see.
